2020 all change...in more ways than one

🇪🇺We were to leave 23 March for the first post Brexit visit. Sad times. But you have to deal with what is, not what was or might have been. I am feeling the hand of Montaigne on my shoulder! Live in the present.

A very rough route
So...it was off to Roscoff overnight then down to Les Sables d’Olonne via the St Nazaire bridge. This is a new destination, among bird reserves and lighthouses as well as the home of the Vendée Globe yacht race. We’ve passed through before but never stayed. It seemed like an interesting town from the little we saw.
Next day across country to Sarlat in the Dordogne. Another first. It is reputedly a fine town with historic buildings and wizzo market on Wednesdays, which we will probably just miss! Doubtless a veritable Honeypot in season but in March, let’s hope not.
Then finally down to Narbonne. The decision has just been made (Feb 6th) on that. I am trying a new chain of hotels - Brit Hotels. Hmm I hear you say. Is that wise ? Will it not be teeming with expats? These were my precise thoughts until I looked up its origins. Brit is short for Brittany. In any case it will be Sablet on the Friday with fingers crossed that the roof is sound, there is no horrendous water damage, etc, etc.

Well forget it! Coronavirus has scuppered the trip. All off. So disappointed.
