This looks like a left over from the Baumes de Venise roundabout!
As we were entering Gigondas territory a large labrador barked gleefully at us from a garden and leapt down the embankment to join us. Obviously the Gigondas chienne du village. She trotted along in front until we got to the road and we were more than a little concerned that she’d be écrasée devant nos yeux! Fortunately we heard a whistling and calling behind and a smartly dressed lady appeared. The dog is hers, it does this a lot. Did we mind? Not really but we were worried about its safety especially as it was now standing in the middle of the road. So Belle (for Belle is the name of the dog) was summonded by owner and told to behave and come home. We now proceeded into the village, stopping briefly in the lovely pottery and promising to return with the car to transport things. And finally had a salade du jour, glass of Gigondas and coffee perched on trendy bar stools under a plane tree.
