Ooo luverly! Fierce north wind keeping the temperature down. We strode out (well drove) across the Plan de Dieu towards Orange. First stopping at the American Airforce Memorial. The Bergerie has been beautifully restored. Then a culture tour of the Théâtre Antique from the hill behind. Looks like they are staging A Short History of Tractors in Ukrainian! It was very windy up top so we didn’t linger too long. The town was quite bustling and the chorégies are in full swing. In fact Orange was looking pretty smart. One can even buy a Patrouille Watch! (did not investigate the price) as well as Balkan produce. We left Orange and its jolly rues and went to Caderousse for a drink and were dismayed to find that the Café de France is now solely a restaurant and Ne Fait Pas Bar. So we moved round to the last remaining bar round the corner. Then a brief visit to the turbine barrage where great works are taking place so no wandering about. And anyway we could barely stand up in the face of the blast. But at least we were not hot.
Tour begins today so our afternoons are planned - darkened room, wine and crisps🤗
