This has been a very good route! Today we left Cahors around 7.30, already feeling much warmer. Pretty Quercy landscape with not many settlements. We know this of old...some years ago when still in camping mode we stopped in a village called Limagne en Quercy, midway between Villefranche and Cahors. It was hot, mid August, Saturday and we were there late afternoon. Not a good combination of factors. We got an emplacement OK and then went back to find supper. Shop had just closed, the only visible restaurant was booked up, the café only did lunch, the take away pizza was so busy they said we'd never get served! So back to the tent where we found some crisps and biscuits. It has left a scar on our souls.
So today, much trepidation as we realised that once again we were to fall on the mercy of the same village, this time for breakfast. We saw no boulangerie but the café was open and people were at tables outside. There are now at least three restaurants plus the feckless pizza. Lady in the bar told us where the boulangerie was (pretty invisible honestly) and we got delicious buttery croissants to wash down with grim milky beverage that had once fleetingly passed by a Gaggia! But it was the cheapest yet.
Then on and on along the D911 to the free motorway south across the Millau Viaduct. You do have to pay for that bit. The usual pic - sorry about dirty windscreen.
We got to Marseillan at 12. Parked in the shade behind Noilly and into La Pacheline on the quay before the rush. It is Hot. Lovely lunch as always.
Arrived in Sablet at 3.30 and are now unpacked. washing on line, plants watered. Oh dear, the shrivelled masses.
