Adverse conditions

Less than a week to go and the weather decides to get a chill. We gradually got snow and then frozen rain that turned the lanes into slides fit for a Luge. Nothing passed, not even a tractor.

We were feeding the birds for miles around including five long tailed tits, four starlings, and a pair of thrushes. These are all rare visitors to our feeders though we see them on the periphery of the garden. But our resident hordes of robins, siskins, goldfinches sparrows, tits various, blackbirds and bullfinches were welcoming and hospitable.
We were worried... would we be able to move on Tuesday?

Hopefully yes. The thaw has begun.
Route is on previous post in case you’ve landed here!
