Terry’s last full day and glorious sun again. Off we set towards Puyméras where I booked a table for lunch, then up through the vines to the perched old village of Propiac. This is the place where some years ago we met the man who restored one of the towers of the ruined château.
As we parked by the vines a large white dog appeared wagging his fine plumed tail. He was obviously the local guide.
We strolled up the road and had a bit of a walk up the hill admiring the views.
Puyméras down in the valley and Ventoux clear as a bell the other way.
We think doggy might have been a sheep guarder having a day off!
Midday was drawing closer. Time to go. We got to Puyméras just before 12 and were sitting down by 12.05 on the shady side of the terrasse. Menu du jour. It was very good and a comfortable spot to watch goings on. One of which was a flash Morgan open top out of which struggled two middle aged Belges. Another was the two trendy businessmen consuming beers wines and Crème de Menthe with their entrecôtes. And a vast red Belgian articulated lorry blocking out the light as it squeezed its way round the tight turn up the narrow road. We have no idea where on earth it was going. A Satnav malfunction?
