Storm Alex hit southern France and this morning it was wind, torrential rain, flashes of lightning. But were we put off? nope! Off to Vaison for cash, then Puyméras for wine and coffee. As we parked up near Le Café des Barrys two grey cats leapt onto the bonnet and peered in at us through the windscreen! Sweet. We drank on the terrace as the menu boards clattered about and plant pots fell over. But it was curiously mild in the south wind.
Next it was over the top to Buis. We had planned to have pizza in the restaurant by the bridge but as we approached we realised we just would not be eating outside and that even inside the canopy might be risky. We stopped in the carpark and I paddled over to check. No good, the place was packed. Plan B...get delicacies from the boulangerie and eat at home. Which we did and very good too. The rain continues to bucket down.
