Money was required as Mr F came yesterday and I paid him €200 cash for works to be done. What with the €120 for boiler service and various market expenses, we were a little low on the readies. Now I can only extract money from Banque Postale ATMs as my card is a plain and simple cash card ( free, no fees, unlike a debit card). These machines are few and far between - one in Vaison and one in Sérignan le Comtat, home of the etymologist Henri Fabre. (There are huge metal insects decorating the entrance and exit roundabouts of the town.) So to ring the changes we meandered our way across the Plan de Dieu to Sérignan. Not a bad place and bits are quite grand but it has a somewhat run down air in places and a main road right through. Anyway the €50 notes were obtained and we returned to the car, passing on the way this extremely fancy smart Chocolatier shop with white choc pumpkin, dark choc sweet chestnut and dear choccy hedgehog in its elegant window. This set us thinking...11.15...hmm? ” I know ,” says A “hot choc in Ste Cécile”. And so it was. The newish Salon de Thé was open and we actually went inside, braving virus, as it looked empty. Well apart from two English ladies at the far end and a couple of chaps at the counter. Very hot, very real chocolate was consumed and we were warmed up. Nice place Ste C even without market and at least on week days you can see the fine square and fountain in front of the Mairie.
This afternoon I hemmed a curtain...’nuff said.
