Busy doing nothing

France is on permanent holiday this week. Double whammy of 8 May VE Day on Wednesday followed by Ascension Day and/or Europe Day on 9 May Thursday. The sun is out and so are the tourists. 27 degrees at 5 o’clock when we got back from a walk round Séguret.

Did not venture beyond the bar for a coffee yesterday and just pottered about on the terrace in and out of the sun. Starling has now perfected his blackbird and bee-eater impressions.

Today we walked up on the Rabais Sud overlooking the valley and mountains listening to nightingales, smelling wild roses and honeysuckle and broom.

Lovely butterflies. Then down to Roaix for lunch. They were very busy but we were there at 12 so got the best table under the tree!

A few hours in the shade of our terrace room before the aforementioned foray to Séguret to walk in the woods. The village was heaving and the new iteration of Côté Terrasse restaurant did not tempt! Pokebowl and burger style of things.
