Uzès

Off to the Gard for lunch in Uzès with Anne. It is warm, hot even. The town was heaving and buzzing with its fantastic market so we managed a bit of a look round before stepping into the shady courtyard of Le bec à vin.
And it was a very pleasant lunch too under the fig tree ( carefully pruned so that the fruit falls away from the tables into a net!).

So many fine buildings in this town. This is the Tour Fenestrelle.

We were reminiscing about previous visits and came to the conclusion that it is twenty years since we first came here when we were staying in St Maximin down the road.
That was some experience! A house owned by a UK MEP and his American wife and an utter shambles inside. But we had some fabulous times despite it including a magical evening in a restaurant by the Pont du Gard, complete with thunderstorm.
