Just for those who are concerned! Son arrived safe but later than planned. After the initial positive text to say he was aboard the Eurostar there came an ominous ding about an hour later. Stuck in the tunnel and unlikely to make the Paris TGV connection.

I scanned the Eurostar site and sure enough there was ‘technical problem’. Passengers with onward connections advised to have their tickets validated for the next available train. Our intrepid traveller did all this and was delighted that Gare de Lyon chap printed him out a real TGV ticket which he will treasure🤗

Anyway the replacement journey arrived to the very second at Avignon and we were  home in time for The Connecting Wall and Missing Vowels (guess what iphone subbed for this!), followed by UC and  late night lasagna.
