Well it was a damp departure. Stuck in drizzle on the dockside. We spotted Andrew and Penny’s camper van in a lane ahead of us and they eventually found us scoffing our free meal by the cafeteria on board. Nice to see them and we had a good chat.
Breakfast in Châteaulaudren (sp) in our favourite and recently refurbished café. The only place where they ask if you want a double coffee or watered down, and hot or cold milk.
Nothing much to report en route..,I was nodding off most of the way! Sandwiches by the almost dried up Loire. Swans and herons wading rather than paddling. And then a drink in Montsoreau which was heaving. We usually go there when there’s no one but it’s still season I suppose. Pussycat was off a-wandering so we didn't see it. And it was warming up.
We now sit on our terrace overlooking the square listening to the fountain and acoustic guitar duo. V civilised.
