Much annoyance all round. First of all Safari won't share my google photos to blog…something to do with blocking cross site tracking. I give up! So all I can offer if you are remotely interested is an album with link that I will update in each entry. See update - solution found but the album entry will continue.
Here it is Autumn26 in the list on the right at top (https://photos.app.goo.gl/VuJgUgXevp25NNtr7)
Then France is vying with North Devon for championship of the roadworks. We had some interesting detours down lanes and through farmyards. But all the while lead by our guiding star the Civaux Nuclear Power Plant’s plume of steam. Visible from space! We even eventually got to admire it from its base. It’s heating up…started off with a blanket of autumnal mist over Chinon which really is a pretty place and worth coming back to out of season. Really nice hotel. The sun looked like a pale full moon. Then the dotted clouds started in the blue sky, lasting well into Dorgogne where they suddenly disappeared. We stopped for a pub-style lunch at the Bar des Sports in Confolens. Nothing fancy but quite adequate - we don’t want to eat out tonight. 28 degrees again.
And finally the usual treasure hunt round Périgueux to find the Ibis! Now really you would think that after a zillion visits this would be a piece of cake. We can find our way out of it from the south easy enough. But somehow despite it being right on the river right under the ruddy vast dominating ornate cathedral, we miss our turning. They don’t sign this cathedral anywhere so you have to guess onward directions on signposts.
Anyway we are here with room over the river. Looks like the whole of the Bourgoin Jallieu rugby team and supporters are also here for tonight's match v Périgueux.
