Mass migration

The clans are gathering. Dorte and Søren arrived late Saturday night, our Parisien neighbours on Sunday afternoon. They were so pleased to see us, it was lovely! Not yet met up with The Danes but we will. Then Paul and Linda are about to depart for UK so we had a discussion about how to get tested en route and what happens at the border and during quarantine. . All terribly expensive and complicated and we are hoping measures might be relaxed before we go back.

The rain has passed and the heat is returning. Mixed blessings!

Monday morning I try the landline… Again (sigh). Message announces ‘number not attributed’. This after having clicked ‘reactivate line’ on my Orange Espace Client when in La Rochelle on Wednesday, done one of those useless live chats when in Cahors on Thursday, and pressed the designated number on an automated line on Friday when we got to Sablet. Nothing! So in desperation I phoned a real Orange person who waved a magic wand and Dring Dring went the phone. Why should it be so complicated.

Next little ray of sunshine was M Fernandes at the door to explain why works had not been done on the gutter. It needs a cherry picker which is expensive so we are hoping to share the cost next time he needs one for another job. But the V word came up and guess what… he is an Anti Vaccin🙀so I subtly backed away a few paces. What is it with these suspicious folk?

School holidays have begun… we made the mistake of going to Intermarché On A Monday. Fools! Benelux and its familles nombreuses
were there in force jamming the aisles
. Why do people go en famille to shop? Leave the little monsters in the car I say.  Anyway we escaped without too much bother and returned via Crestet Pots to purchase a couple of oven dishes.
