Rasteau

Last night was very nice in the Kaiser garden with even a cool breeze! Dorte had to borrow a shawl.

And it continued for the first part of this morning. Only 28 as we did the Rasteau Walk. We saw young unripe furry quinces, almonds, wild mirabelle plums (I think),

pomegranates in flower. And deafened by the cicadas.

Still a bit sticky though and we were glad of a drink in the square. As usual Mine Jolly Host says “on est fermé” - such a wag! It’s playtime...the fair was being set up. One in Vaison yesterday too.

Then we had another go at locating Tour Viewing Spot. It’s a toss up between two junctions. We were exploring one when a chap in a van stopped to ask if we were looking for something. I explained. He
understood!

The days are falling into a pattern...we go out in the morning, return at midday, close the shutters and doze in front of the Tour, sound off mostly. Only flickering into life if it looks interesting or for a cup of coffee! As things draw to a finale we switch on sound and cheer them on. Today should be good. Mulhouse to La Planche des Belles Filles. Lots of uphill.
