Down to Caderousse for a walk by the river. We must be acclimatising because it was very pleasant with a cooling breeze. And a bonus of the Camargue issuing forth from the lock. It was not full - only about fifty people up on deck. But maybe others had been bussed to Châteauneuf.
A poor little leisure boat was patiently waiting to go upstream but I guess they’d have to hang about until another big boat came along to make it worthwhile opening the lock.
Then we dithered about a bit as to where to go, finally ending up in Mornas a picturesque village right by the motorway with old château on top. On the way passing through Piolenc, home of Garlic. But we couldn’t face the climb up to the château today so just had coffee in our favourite café Le Bar du Coin.
You see some good sights on the motorway! Just hope the lorry doesn’t live up to its name.
Followed by a stroll round the cool shady streets of ramshackle houses with renaissance upper windows and arches. Tastefully disguised loos!
We actually had lunch on our terrace at home.
